FAQs
Frequently asked questions
WHAT WILL I DO IN THE EXAM?
You will have to take 4 TESTS called “skills”: Listening, Reading, Writing and Speaking. The first two tests: Listening and Reading, are for UNDERSTANDING Italian. They are divided into 3-5 parts and have closed answers (you have to answer questions with X or match parts together).
Speaking and writing are divided into 2-3 parts and are tests for PRODUCTION of Italian.
The tests are: written and oral.
WRITTEN EXAMS (3 TESTS: Listening, Reading and Writing): they are all done on a single day. Keep the day free. The answers to “Listening” and “Reading” are then copied onto a special sheet (electronic OCR reading).
MUNDTLIG EKSAMEN: KALENDER vil blive offentliggjort uden for det skriftlige prøvelokale. Kandidater vil modtage kalenderen på e-mail to uger før eksamensdatoen.
WHAT DO I NEED TO KNOW TO PASS THE EXAMS?
There is no grammar test, but you must demonstrate that you understand how to use Italian structures differently depending on the level. The higher the level, the more Italian you need to know.
In short, the elementary and pre-intermediate levels (A1, A2 and B1) are not difficult, but they all require skills and maximum concentration.
Levels “A”: knowing how to communicate, knowing how to describe someone or something, understanding and making oneself understood in a simple but clear way, even in the “writing” test, understanding and making oneself understood in normal everyday situations.
Levels “B”: from B1 it is necessary to have good practice in Italian in all 4 skills required for the exam. B1 also requires practice in talking about abstract, non-concrete things, such as feelings, characters, impressions and knowing how to use Italian differently, depending on whether you need to tell a story, formulate invitations or hypotheses, give advice…
From B2 the exam becomes very demanding. You need to have a broad vocabulary, be able to argue opinions well and be able to recognize messages in complex sentences. The simple sentence is no longer accepted.
“C” levels: These levels require you to solve complicated communication situations, even on topics you are not familiar with, and be able to use all linguistic structures well. You must be fluent and correct, know bureaucratic and specialized language, and be able to use all the communicative nuances you are asked to.
HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR THE WRITTEN EXAM?
For the B1 level, IIC usually organizes a personal exam preparation course. You can request information and be put on the list for registration for the next preparation course by sending an email to plida.cph@dante-alighieri-copenaghen.dk
For all levels, you can click on the buttons above regarding the Plida course.
HOW CAN I PREPARE FOR THE ORAL EXAM?
If you want, you can register for the short training and oral exam simulation course for your level by sending an email to: plida.cph@dante-alighieri-cph.dk
The course is held online. The course is divided into two sessions of approximately 50 minutes: during the first session, you will be explained how the exam is conducted and you will do a first simulation, where you correct any grammatical and presentation errors during the conversation with the teacher. During the second session, the entire oral exam will be simulated several times to perfect your oral presentation, pronunciation and comprehension speed during the conversation. The course is individual.
EVALUATION AND SCORING. HOW DOES IT WORK?
Evaluation: PLIDA is a European standard certification, the exams and corrections are carried out by different centers: The exams are carried out in authorized certification centers such as CLI, but the corrections are carried out by the reference certification body, which for us is the PLIDA Office of the Dante Alighieri Society – Headquarters.
Score: The exam is only sufficient if you have at least 18/30 points for each skill.
WHEN WILL THE RESULTS COME?
If you need a quick correction of the written tests, please contact the head of the Plida center immediately on phone number and whatsapp 91426096.
CHARACTER. They arrive before the certificates. If you make the request in time, the head of the Plida center can prepare a letter “waiting for certificate”. The head of the Plida center is in no way responsible for any misunderstandings.
CERTIFICATE. The certificates will no longer arrive at IIC in Hellerup, but will be available for download online.
